Four Step Detailing Process

In conjunction with Fabrication, we offer our customers the option to use our HVAC Systems Detailing service.  Superior Cad Services is a Division of Superior Air Handling Corporation. With over 60 years of experience on projects throughout the country, we work hard to meet our customer’s expectations and schedule.  We interpret the information given in the contract documents and use this information to develop accurate coordinated shop drawings from which the duct system, parts and components can be fabricated, shipped and installed in the most efficient manner possible.

Our "Four Step Detailing Process" is briefly described as follows:

  1. Prepare the Background Drawings
    1. Clean up the architectural drawings by deleting the objects and notes not relevant to our equipment & ductwork.
    2. Show the grid lines, walls, room callouts & ceilings.
    3. Apply and elevate the structure. (Secure Structural Steel Shop Drawings ASAP)
    4. Build Title Blocks.
    5. Develop Key Plans.
  2. Prepare Coordination Drawings
    1. Redraw the HVAC systems using approved equipment submittals and duct routing & sizing requirements that miss structural obstacles and trades.
    2. Identify problem areas and write RFI’s for clarification & instruction.
    3. Coordinate our work with the other trades to ensure that all work fits into the available space.
    4. Make necessary changes and prepare Coordination Drawings for construction approval.
  3. Prepare Fabrication Drawings
    1. Divide the duct into joints and number all duct & fittings.
    2. Show additional information on drawings as required for the ticketing & shop processes.
  4. Ticketing
    1. Review the Fabrication Drawings for accuracy and make any required changes.
    2. Input project information into the computer for shop fabrication.
